“Government fees, taxes and infrastructure requirements account for more than one-quarter of the cost of a typical new home in Manitoba, a new study by the province’s largest homebuilder has found.
Dave Eggerman, controller for Winnipeg-based Qualico, told delegates attending the Manitoba Home Builders Association’s 17th annual Housing Forum and Building Trade Show that Qualico and the MHBA recently did a breakdown of all of the government-imposed costs associated with the construction of a typical new home in Winnipeg.”
